In 2022, Emicool released its first publicly available sustainability report, voluntarily adhering to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework. Since then, we have continued to evolve and improve our operations, driven by a commitment to transparency and sustainability.

Our reports provide a detailed overview of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) progress, addressing key focus areas such as integrity, economic impact, responsible operations, natural resource management, workforce development, stakeholder relationships, and community engagement.

"The implementation of sustainability principles is one of the major priorities in building our business. District cooling is more environmentally friendly, green and sustainable compared to other Air Conditioning Solutions. This however is not enough. Our vision is to expand our business to become a world-class provider of energy-efficient district cooling, delivering district cooling services reliably, efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner, exceeding customer expectations and contributing to the economic success of our partners and stakeholders. “Growing Sustainably” is our new sustainability strategy which is being implemented gradually with a focus on the main aspects of our business. Empowering, supporting and motivating our employees, always operating in accordance with the highest standards of safety and environmental protection are key aspects along with applying innovative approaches using new technologies to identify the best sustainable alternatives and solutions. We use effective partnerships for enhancing and improving processes and services within the company as well. Sustainable use of resources is another core sustainability principle which we follow. The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.

Emicool’s sustainability programme supports the United Nations' 2030 Agenda contributing to 8 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reinforces the UAE’s National Agenda 2021 “Sustainable Environment and Infrastructure” pillar.

Emicool is implementing integrated management system to ensure its compliance with the international standards and relevant occupational health and safety and the environmental legislation and regulations as well as maintaining best practices.

Emicool is certified with the following ISO standards; ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 & ISO 46001.

Emicool has established objectives & policies aligned with its strategic direction, to enhance its customer satisfaction; and to provide the best enactment in health & safety for its employees and customers; in addition to its commitments towards the saving of the natural resources.

POLICY
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

CSR is an ever evolving business practice that integrates sustainable development into an organization’s business model. It has a positive impact on social, economic and environmental factors. Emicool proactively supports CSR initiatives leading to the well-being of the community and environment, while striving towards highest standards of professionalism. 

During last year, Emicool initiated several CSR activities including "Beach Clean Up" activity in order to protect ocean life and clear the beach of any waste the ocean has brought onto the sand, initiative was proactively supported by employees and resulted in 485 kg of collected waste.

During another CSR initiative “Plant a Tree and get Oxygen for Free”, 500 trees were planted by Emicool team at Emirates Bio Farm. A single tree sequesters up to 35kg of carbon emission per year and total reduction of CO2 emission by planting 500 trees reaches 17,500 kg per year.

In August 2020, Emicool’s electric vehicle fleet marks a year in operation and achieved a drop of 135.5 tons of CO2 emissions, 48% on the maintenance costs
